How to Reach Goals Best?
The question of the day is: how to reach goals you set best? The world being as it is, careening headlong into the future, we are forced to do multiple tasks at once. Isn’t it the only way to finish what we need to do in a day if it only has 24 hours? The keynote of our training is the statement that if we attain all our goals in a period of time, we are deemed successful. What we are taught far less is how to manage our time effectively, how tracking time can change everything, and that quality of an attained goal is as important as the fact of attaining it, as is the efforts spent to this end.
The capital mistake we all tend to make is setting plenty of goals for a day or week, and then, when we fail to achieve them all, we feel like we are losers. To cope, we leave the unfinished tasks over to the next day/week. So what is the trick? First, to restore your self-esteem don’t try to jump over your head, set only 3 goals a day, a week, a month, that ARE really important to complete. Why three, not 4 or 5? Let’s be realists, there are so many things that consume our time. All sorts of meetings, boss’s requests, client phone calls that don’t let you leave the office on time, etc. And, of course, – the Internet, that mammoth entertainer! We all have our little vices, don’t we? If we don’t allow for these time spendings, then we’re not being realistic about what we can accomplish in a day. Important lesson here is: we need to pick up the good habit of time tracking using whatever it takes (like the software this site is all about).
SMART goal setting is a tool to apply in setting your goals and objectives. Your goals should be specific, measurable, attainable (doable) realistic, and timely.
It’s all very well, but how do we make 3 goals in a day and do it with quality it deserves and as little effort as possible? The trick is to give it focus and undivided attention. The keyword here is undivided so that your attention stays UNRESERVEDLY on the task in hand. Any distractions, sight-catchers, the unimportant but more interesting, shouldn’t take us away from what needs to be done at that moment. Just attend to the job you are facing not allowing anything to interfere, and you will in no time notice how easily the task is accomplished. Don’t forget to time yourself. It also helps concentrate when you know you will only be paid for time you actually worked. The irony of it, the more heed you give it, the more focused you are on your job, the less effort you will feel in completing it. Do not deceive yourself, distractions simply add to the multiple tasks you have, so you have multi-multi tasks as a result. In the final analysis, quality suffers too. Quite simple: the more things get in the way, the less finishing you can give to whatever you are working on.
How to set about improving your time management practically: Make a list of three or more goals for any day, for a week, for a month of which 3 MUST be completed. Working toward accomplishing them may involve turning off the phone, working in a lending library, or setting your Skype status to Busy. Again, do not forget to track your time using a good software product, like this one here. Undivided attention and time tracking can be your recipe for success. After learning to get 3 goals in timely and quality manner, you can move to 4 and then,… sky is the limit. Just remember: time management is just a skill that anybody can learn.

Balancing Your Work Time Management Wise
Personal balance is envisioned by many as all kinds of things on the two pans of a scale, in perfect balance. This is a ridiculously naive goal. Plenty of frustration awaits anyone, who expects to lead life with everything, work, family, social life, allocated a certain amount of time everyday, so that’s every piece and bit is “in balance.” Just think of it. A delayed bus can ruin your business meeting, or exacting boss can keep you up at work well into after business hours breaking to pieces your day long looking forward to a cosy family dinner. read on…
